Yeah, I don't mind that. [Being steadfast. Being grounded. He's aware that he can do that and has done that before and he's aware he's thrown shitfits about Con Air. It's a weird balance and he figures maybe it's just part of growing up.] Do you think steadfast and loyalty are the same thing?

[ ...john's getting a blank stare but it's more startled than anything else. ] Uh...yeah?

[ what is john doing. where is he going with this. ]

[He doesn't immediately say, but he nods in reply.]

Which means you'd probably do anything someone asked if they were important to you. Right?

I'm not asking you to do anything right now, dummy. Relax. [He's watching the apples tumble around in boiling water.] I am just saying that given that don't you think people would do their best to grant your own wishes?

[Apple juice is hardly a wish =\]

[ dave literally just confirmed the same thing but he's stalling ... ]

[windeity]

[He just gives him a dead-eyed stare.] Yes, I am completely and utterly sappy for you. Tap my veins and you will get syrup for pancakes that we cannot even make here. I'm serious though. People would.

It's not a disney magic moment without a musical number or a hug. [ just as deadpan even though he does want a hug. ]

[windeity]

Okay, well, give me like ten minutes and my arms will be free. [Like. Is he implying that's for a hug? It's for the piano? Both? We just don't know.]

[parodeity]

It's too late, the movie magic has fizzled. So. What else is new with you?

[windeity]

Lame. [But...shrug.] Nothing really. You?

Chasin' after people to keep busy. [ with missions or random whatevers, he means. ] And the pool of options for that just got like, way wider.

[windeity]

[That answer doesn't surprise him.] A bunch of new people to quest with, you mean. That is kind of cool I guess. What've you done so far?

[parodeity]

I've had the most luck convincing people to chase geese with me.

[ toiletries are a pretty big draw, apparently. ]

Skills I think nets socks. [ so he's like, more into geese. he maybe ? fought the jorogumo, who knows. ]

[windeity]

Sounds about right. The geese are easy. [He makes a face though.] Are they at least comfortable socks? I've been teaching someone skills. What do the wishes give us?

[ dave produces two pairs of socks from his sylladex for john to see. ]

I don't know. I couldn't tell. I've only gotten one wish actually granted so far. Didn't manage to hit a quest clear last month. My fake gamer soul hates it, or would if I could be fucked to care.

[windeity]

Those are hideous. [And somehow perfect for Dave so he doesn't comment. Instead, he's judging the apples.] I do not really know how to tell when a quest is and isn't completed until loot drops happen, but I might have cleared most of them. I don't know.

[But he seems to see something and he nods, pulling the pot out of the fire with the wind and heading back to the kitchen. There's a startled yell of "fuck!!" but that's mostly because he drops the pot on a countertop/table.

Either way...it takes a few seconds for him to grab the apples and start pressing the mushier fruit into giving juice, also pouring the boiled apple-water-now-juice into a glass. About ten minutes later he returns to Dave with what looks like half a cup of AJ.]

Here. This was the best I could do with the apples we had left. We don't have any sugar so it is just pure apples.

Congrats. [ on the quests.

dave looks at the aj and accepts it carefully like it's some lost foreign treasure because what the fuck. he's almost hesitant to take a sip although he does. ]

Haven't had any juice in like. Three years. So. You have no competition.

[windeity]

[There's a shrug.] Wasn't really a competition. [The juice probably isn't as sweet as normal AJ but it's flavorful and maybe a little diluted but mostly apple-tasting.] But how did it turn out? Taste okay? I was sort of guessing on the time and squeezing.

[parodeity]

I mean, it tastes like apples, so I love it? [ have a brief if genuine smile. ] Thanks, dude. But you seriously can't think of any wishes?

[windeity]

...[He tilts his head thoughtfully.] Just kind of a dumb one.

[parodeity]

Those are the best kind, so tell me anyway.
