I know, totally lame right? [Hahaha yeah right.] I’m glad though. Dad and Nanna both passed down pretty much everything I know but it’s been a while since I’ve really cooked for somebody else.

I didn’t say they were lame. [ they kinda are, but. john just gets a curious look as dave methodically works through the omelette. ] When was the last time you cooked for someone until you started making breakfast sometimes?

Hmm...I used to make breakfast or dinner for Nanna sometimes? Usually on Sundays when we both had the day off. And sometimes I'd make hungover breakfast for my high school friends if I crashed at somebody's house or something...and Vic, sometimes.

Is hungover breakfast better or worse than this? [ not that he’d let john cook hungover but. ]

It's probably a little better because grease is supposed to help with the hungover feeling. Supposedly. I think that might have just been an excuse but whatever.

I mean, is the experience better? [ or maybe that is not what he meant. hm. dave decides he has no idea how to explain his question and just skips to another topic, like he occasionally does after deciding he has no idea how to express himself properly rather than, like, trying to figure out how to do it. ] Soooooo. Well yeah! You are kind of like...it’s different with you. And it’s always been one of those things I want to be special for both of us and not something I can do for just everybody. If that makes sense.
