Shut up, no it's fine. There's space for this one, I promise. [And with everything put away he moves to hold out his hand for Dave to take so they can head upstairs.]
[...INTERNAL SIGH. Part of Dave's Christmas present is not judging him for pictures and letting him do whatever, too, so he goes on ahead to their room.
Once they get there though, Dave will notice there's an empty corner that's on the other side of the computer desk and in the corner furthest away from the door. A few moments later:]
Okay so like...this should fit? [And it doesn't take long before he flips a cat tree out of his sylladex. There are also a few little dangling toys attached that John fastened himself for the kitten to play with.]
[ cool he takes pictures of john as he wanders after him, apparently either just content or seeing how far he can push the picture thing, it’s hard to say.
but he shifts from john to the cat tree, immediately amused. ]
I like how little we try to hide our illegal pet these days? [ mewpac of course takes an immediate interest in the new item or at least the dangly toys ]
[Dave stop taking pictures of John's butt? But whatever, whatever, he grins proudly as the cat zips over to the tree and he picks her up to put her on one of the higher ledges where there's a toy for her to bat around.]
I figure it's like this. If we ever have a room inspection or anything, we can just store everything in one of our sylladexes until it is over and nobody can prove otherwise.
It comes in handy doesn't it? [He's also going to get dressed, don't mind him. He's sliding into jeans and apparently this sweater in a slightly darker blue while looping a scarf around his neck.]
And I promise you we are both wearing dumb Christmas sweaters later, too. I’m not telling you though, that is the whole point? You told me that I was in charge of Christmas and Christmas is about surprises. We’re driving though. Are you ready?
We can take family pictures or whatever later if you want, I think I have the perfect thing for her anyway. [But down to the car they go! He opens the door for him and everything and the radio is definitely playing Christmas music. The chatter is light and dumb and eventually...]
So. Here we are. [They are at the art museum, it seems.]
[He will definitely agree to family pictures like a goddamn sucker. But he nods and gestures to the museum.]
I was reading about this cool set of displays they’re doing for the holidays and...I don’t know. I thought it would be kind of neat to check it out. [John Egbert is definitely targeting Dave Strider this Christmas. ]
You thought it would be neat. [ the don't-touch art museum. dave's eyebrows lift but he does...
he actually doesn't move to get out of the car. because john likes opening doors. ]
I mean, I'm in. Also, this reminds me [ in a sideways manner ] you might want to make some kinda plans for Wednesday nights? Maybe with Nat or whoever. For at least a little while, although y'all might be useful sometimes if you want.
Filming a horse propoganda film with Minato, who wants to play the horse? May or may not transition to a standing thing after. We do need other actors, though. How do you feel about being a campaign manager?
It's something. [But he's finally getting out of the car and letting Dave out as well, gesturing for him to follow to the museum entrance.] Come on. They're running on holiday hours today.

[ dave has weird friends. ]

Hard pass, babe. Maybe I should stick to being your composer? And why does Minato want to be a horse?
no subject
[ DAVE HAS...WEIRD FRIENDS. he gives john a flicker of a grin before pulling up an image on his phone to show john. ]
It'd have to fit the tone of the inspiration for the piece?

Which one of you created this and why did you make me see it?
