Well yeah! You are kind of like...it’s different with you. And it’s always been one of those things I want to be special for both of us and not something I can do for just everybody. If that makes sense.

[Three-fourths is pretty good for Dave all things considered and even while he’s looking at John trough the camera John brightens a little. ]

Oh. I do, too. It’s kind of nice it isn’t one-sided, huh? I know sometimes I need to be better about letting you do the reverse but it makes me happy doing stuff like this. [John doesn’t mind spoiling his friends regardless but he has missed having someone special to spoil, too.]

[The last bite of his omelette disappeared a bit ago, so he raises an eyebrow and wanders closer. ]

[ this is terrible height wise maybe since dave is still seated on the counter, but he never minds being awkwardly bent and just reaches out to tilt john’s chin up so he can give him another brief kiss. before he pulls away and snaps another picture, apparently planning to keep that up. ]

[Well excuse you. That picture is probably of John being caught between delight and surprise because he definitely tried to kiss back. Dave pulls away and John looks up at him with a small laugh. ]

My moves are way smoother than yours, yes. Like creamy peanut butter but less deadly? [ he laughs and lets the camera fall again though and reaches out to pull john over by the collar to just...stand in front of him between his legs on the counter though? and loops his arms loosely over john’s shoulders. ] Thanks for breakfast.

Wouldn’t that just be regular butter? [His hands test on Dave’s knees and he doesn’t mind being at this level anyway. ] But yeah! I’m glad you liked it? I never mind cooking for you. Ready to head up and get dressed to go out? I promise I won’t even judge tiday’s ugly sweater too hard.

So far, huh? [But he just sort of pats Dave's legs before moving so he can start cleaning up. The apron's still on.] What can I say? I like a little risk sometimes.

Failure is always an option? [ it’s not really but he slides off the counter and moves to help clean instead of just watching, anyway. ]

[Normally he'd stop him but he doesn't mind this time as things get cleaned and stored and thrown away.] I'm not sure failure is a thing I really want to consider with you, so nice try.

Which I am eternally grateful for, believe me, but you know what I mean. I want to make things work when I can.

I got her a Christmas present, too. It should entertain her for a while and keep her busy for a little bit.
