[Parking at the train station, John leans over the center console of his car to kiss Dave's cheek.]

You're right, but I like the physical reminder anyway.

[He's just. Laughing.] Oh my god. Fine, sure, whatever. [He isn't too put out by it though and he takes Dave's hand once they're out of the car and leads him to the trains.]

[ a small sigh and he drags john's hand up to kiss his wrist before dropping the hand. ] Fine, okay. I'll see you soon, babe.

[Too bad kissing Dave's chest in public would be weird, so he grins and waves.] See you soon.

[And he's off to board the Beta train, hoping that Dave catches the Alpha train and meets up with him in the digital scape.]

[He's also moving so that Dave can jump on his back. He's apparently fine with the piggyback clause.] Yeah, I've noticed. Do you think we're eventually going to change statuses or bring more Alphas back?

[And he's walking forward into the digital zone, past half-sculptured buildings and other inventions.]

[Idiots. John walks forward though and he seems to know where he's going which is unusual.]

Okay first of all, I am not sure that would work? And also how do you know it wouldn't just make me an Alpha instead?

I think there's actually a way to temporarily swap one of us? Pen and I were looking into it. [Did he just remember this fact? Yeah, pretty much.] Or at least let us board the other trains. I'm not sure how well it works or how long though.

After I spent multiple lifetimes trying to keep you? Fat chance. [He's walking and the area around them begins to ripple and change, the digital landscape fading away and beginning to turn into a beautiful, lush forest.]

I don't see any snow, so for now I'll keep my ire at bay. [ besides, there's john? dave's walking slightly behind him though. ]

I would never take you somewhere where there was only snow. [...not without warning anyway, but he holds a hand behind him for Dave to take.] I'm actually surprised this showed up again. I wasn't sure it would after I left the first time. I did not get very far in exploring but I wanted to show you something cool.

[ dave takes john's hand immediately. ] Is it a waterfall?

What makes you think it's a waterfall? [He doesn't deny it, but it's a curious question. As they walk, beautiful, color flowers pop up as vines dangle from above. Crystal-like orbs glint in the sunlight and John continues to walk.]

Simple hope? [ basically he wants to see one ]

Cute. [He grins happily as they walk eventually approach the more lavish area of the ground, a river, and what sounds like a waterfall in the distance. But more importantly, he points something out for Dave.]

We can definitely look for one, but check it out. [He's leading him forward and directing him to a photo cut-out stand.] These things look ancient.

[ wow, shut up, he isn't cute - although maybe there's something cute about the way he lights up at the sight of the photo cut-out? dave might not seem expressive at first glance to the casual observer, but john has known him long enough and well enough to recognize the slight curl of his lips, the way his eyebrows lift, the way he looks around with sudden intense interest. ]

This is the weirdest goddamned place for a tourist trap but you know what? Sold.

[He notices. He notices and he feels his heart swell a little knowing he was spot-on that his boyfriend's thrilled with his discovery.]

That's what I said. There are a few of them around. I'm not sure why? Or, like, if we are supposed to do something with them but I figured it wouldn't hurt to explore and see where they lead us.
