[There's a thoughtful hum as he shrugs. Once Dave parks, he's getting out of the car and also heading over to try and open the driver's side door for Dave anyway.] I'm not sure yet. I do not think I would call it a race, but I am definitely keeping an eye on the clock now.

Yes, that's exactly it. Think of our future children, Dave. [He rolls his eyes and pulls on Dave's hand to hold it and lead him forward, also stealing the keys back to lock the car. They seem to be going to the side of the building instead of the front, so that's a little weird.] We're flying, by the way. Not that far though.

How do you even turn that kind of song into a rap? I am just curious. [He leaves the subject of kids alone because that's maybe a little too serious for him right now. (He does want them though, someday, he thinks.)]

[I bet I could find someone doing it on youtube and that fills me with fear. But predictably John just starts laughing? Why is Dave like this and why does he love this doofus?]

Okay, okay, point taken, Princess. [Dave is absolutely Princess Jasmine in this scenario, and John gestures upward to where there's a window near the top of the building that's cracked open.] Your date's up there.

[Up up and away! John gets up there and uses a foot to push the window open, giving them room to slip in.

It's a little drafty which is why he asked Dave to bring a jacket, but it appears that he's found a pocket above the planetarium where they can hover above the planets and look down on the galaxy. There's also a picnic basket, a blanket, and his backpack. There are candles? He left them burning while he went to get Dave which is the scariest part but.]

...it's lame, but I figured a date in actual space would maybe make you freeze to death.

[ john is a reckless idiot, news at eleven. dave thinks about chinese food in their dorm and star projectors and huffs a laugh. ] Okay, you win.

[It's absolutely a throwback date and he grins brightly as he moves things out of the way so they can sit and stare at the constantly changing stars and planets below them. They're on a metal-esque platform but John doesn't seem to mind.]

It's weird to think about the galaxy and not think of you, I think. The two are one in the same.

[ a low amused whistle as he sits. ] Have you been taking actual lessons on being smooth? Who are you and what did you do with my dork of a boyfriend? [ obviously he's teasing ]

Shut up. [There's a laugh though.] I have always been smooth and you just didn't notice. Like smoother than peanut butter. I assume. [Yeah ok he ruined it that's fine.]

There's my guy. [ but dave is examining the food and actually going to eat because john ]

[A good choice, given it's a lot of really warm food? And also galaxy-themed food so this means spacesandwiches, chicken and stars soup, and also apple muffins with a light dusting of edible glitter.

He decided being goofy was in order, apparently.]

I can never tell if you like me better smooth or whatever this is.

I like you all the ways. Did you make this? [ the muffin. dave raises an eyebrow. ] ...do we have edible glitter in the household. If so why haven't we been using it on everything??

I feel like all of those are stupid questions and you know the answers already, dude. ["Yes I made them, yes we have glitter, and because it's a pain in the ass to clean up."]

What if I want to eat you in glitter? [ now he's just teasing but he's also flicking some of it at john. have fun cleaning, john. ]

[windeity]

I think you just want to eat me in general. [He makes a face and he's trying to wipe the glitter off.] Also I am saving some for your birthday cake, jackass.

Yeah, maybe I do. [ he snags a sandwich. ] Can you blame me?

[windeity]

Now why would I ever blame you for having sex with me? Think about that for a second. [Dave has a sandwich and John's grabbing for a thermos for some soup. Everything's still warm at least. The planets shift below.] But no, I do not.
