Dinner's still baking. [It's mostly done, but he is doing something both childish and fancy for their dinner.] Let's just go so you can get it out of your system.

Dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets. [He's grinning so he might not be serious? God maybe he's serious.] And some other stuff, but dessert's what's actually in the oven. I adjusted the temperatures to finish baking that while keeping everything else warm.

...Oh my god I love you. [ hopefully those chicken nuggets are serious!!! dave apparently fully approves of dinosaur chicken nuggets for a birthday dinner. god help them all.

he opens the guest bedroom door - at least they've probably cleaned and straightened it up even though neither of them used it - and then heads over to the closet.

I know. [A grin. It's definitely dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets, baked mac and cheese, champagne and when that fails sparkling apple cider and an apple pie instead of a cake. Happy birthday, Dave.

Still, they enter the room and he lets Dave wander to the closet. He doesn't say anything, rolling his eyes to the ceiling to avoid looking.

There are definitely dick pics on the wall to Dave's absolute not surprise. It's dick pics but it's also pictures of shirtless John because he's blatantly aware Dave likes his arms, close-ups of his eyes and also a close-up of him licking his hand clean because John's actually a terrible person who thought this was a good idea.]

[ dave's a terrible person who actually kind of finds that attractive so this is super unfortunate all around. at least he doesn't focus in immediately on the hand thing or only that - he's actually just examining the pictures in an abstract artist sort of way, curious about how john framed them and the artistic choices that went into the shots.

he's pretty sure the choices boiled down to "dave probably will find this hot". ]

[Thanks Dave, that's...actually expected and John's a little relieved by that. That's absolutely what the choices boil down to though, and he makes a face.]

Like you wouldn't have done it yourself? [It's definitely mostly black and white shots (the ones of his eyes are in color) in black frames. So here we are.] I tried to remember everything I read about basic photography but some of the shots might be off.

Dude, no. I mean, yes, maybe, if you were a pro but - it gives them your personality. [ he drapes an arm over john's shoulders. ] And also you actually took pictures for me without me nagging you? ...And apparently maybe jerked off, I can't tell.

I did take pictures, I did not jerk off in your dark room. [But he nuzzles against Dave's cheek even when his voice drops to a lower tone.] Then again, sometimes you're not around and things happen.
