[ well, assuming they made it out of the restaurant and are going to get their car from the valet or whatever.

[The valet shows up and John returns the kiss, squeezing Dave around the waist a little before opening the door for him.]

Cool. That is all I wanted to hear. [And once Dave's situated he'll go to the driver's side and start driving them to their next location.] Anyway so yeah, it's kind of pottery and kind of not.

[Meanwhile, John continues to be impatient and he suddenly perks up again.] First! And then I can give you the other thing. [SPARE HIS LIFE.]

[Luckily the art place isn't far from where John took them for dinner, so eventually he finds a new place to park and turns in his seat almost expectantly.]

This is the place. They're open for another couple of hours.

[ a. longish pause. ]

...It's embarrassing. [ he's already second guessing the thing, apparently. ]

Eyes shut and hands out, then.

[Hm. Okay, the car's in park and stuff so he does just that, tempted to peek but not bothering.]

...It's yours anyway. [ muttered as he drops something into john's palms. he leaves his hands over it for a second, still kind of second-guessing if john will even want it, but when he pulls back it's just his (sort of shitty looking) heartstone.

he makes a face whenever john looks at him. ]

[His eyes are still shut when he feels the smooth parts of the stone in his palm and he makes a face, unsure of what to think before he opens them and glances down.

He pauses though.

...huh. His hands rotate the stone a little, breath caught in his throat as he thinks of the implications here before looking at Dave again.]

...are you sure? [He's already closing his fist around it because fuck off, it's his now.]
