We had a bowl for keys at home because Dad and I used to always misplace them otherwise. Drove Nanna crazy. That doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I don't usually lose things...? I mean, sometimes I lose track of shit on my desk, but I always know it is there.

I used to be pretty bad about it when I was a kid but I have figured out how to be more organized lately. [With that, he moves to grab a bowl to paint before gesturing to...dinosaurs. Go nuts.]

Necessity, slowly becoming less of a mess as a person, and constantly sharing my living space with someone else.

My dad got me in the habit really early on and I guess I never outgrew it. Kind of like doing my dishes.

You mean besides being grateful I have the chance to shower every day? [A grin.] I have some projects I'm working on for one of my classes. I am thinking about texting Yukiko to see her later this week to catch up. I'm behind in one of my gen ed courses but that's not unusual. And...I don't know. I'm happy.

I haven't heard from her in a while, that could be pretty fun? [ for john, he means. but it's nice, he thinks, that john is happy. dave feels happy, too, even if it's twisted with flickering guilt for the emotion existing when it maybe shouldn't.

Yeah! There are a few people I need to catch up with still. I saw Anya the other day, and I told Chiyo that since the sun's back we should do a group picnic soon. I think it'd be good for you to see her one on one again though. [Lines, lines, lines. It's black straight lines like bars for sheet music.]

I thought about texting Ayano, too, but. [Shrug.] And I have a few other people I want to check on.

I could, but I can always rework my plans if I needed to. I happen to like you a lot.

And I like you a lot too, but I wouldn't ask you to rework your plans unless it was an outright emergency? Time apart is good, etcetera etcetera.

I know time apart is good, but that is still four days we can be separated. Or three, I guess, if Tuesday dinner is in the mix that week. [...] We can make up for it later, seeing you that much would be the equivalent of me being spoiled.

Shut up. [A dab of black paint winds up on Dave's knuckles. Oops.] You know what I mean! It'll be good for both of us this way.

Yeah, I know, you mean the "spending too much time together is bad" thing. I don't actually mind how we spend our days as long as I get to come home to you. I wouldn't be a huge fan without that - I don't know, security? I mean, I'd live, obviously. But it's nice to have a home base.

I like home base and I like you being part of my home. That part was never out of the question. So yeah...I agree. [He's painted his music on the bowl and he moves to start painting a large blue stripe on the bottom.] Somehow it feels a lot less empty than my house with my nanna.
