[It's dark as usual, but Dave will eventually notice the shadows rippling and something slithering over to drape on his shoulders. John's taken to hanging out in wisp form at this rate, happy to play among the shade and shadows and there's a barely-there press to Dave's cheek as John speaks to him in the low, gravelly murmur that's become more obvious over the last week.]

Sooo...we should do something special today. [But the tone still indicates he has something in mind.]

[ dave maybe minds john not always being fully tangible, but he doesn't mind the voice drop. that's fine. that's more than fine? and it's the twelfth, so dave's eyebrows lift as he wonders what "special" means in this context.

[He gets it which is the worst part. There's a smile, teeth white and glowing against the shadowy features of his face even while he proceeds to nuzzle his nose against Dave's cheek for whatever reason.]

How do you think the story would have gone if Little Red followed the wolf instead of going to Grandmother's house?

What? Dude, no, what the fuck. [Ah. There's normal!John's voice and confusion.] I'm not the vampire here first of all, and second of all I am trying to tell you I found a wolf and I think it is stalking me.

Yeah, I know. [Don't sound so pleased with that jfc. And stop nuzzling? But he nods because yes, yes, he wants to follow a wolf.] He has been wandering around town kind of like Mewpac used to before I paid attention to her. So I kind of wonder if it's the same thing? I don't know what it wants.

[ "mewpac" got a small frown because CATS STILL HATE HIM :( ]

[A good Dave. He continues for a moment before he materializes a little further to become a solid person. He lands on the ground and intertwines a hand with Dave's.]

Did you just call me easy??? [ an amused note as he laces his fingers with john's. ] And not if the thing is really stalking you, nah.

Are you going to tell me you aren't when it comes to me? [A grin.] I never said it was a bad thing, by the way. I have never had a wolf-stalker before so I was not sure of the protocol here. Ready?

Okay, hey, like you aren't just as easy? [ still not a bad thing maybe. but dave nods at the question at least and figures they can head out now.

Maybe a little. [The wolf stalker...recognizes Dave. Of course he does, Dave was in Magatus, and Magnus approaches with a woof to sniff at both of them. He growls shortly after, unhappy that they'd both been turned but he begrudgingly turns and begins to trot off. He stops a short ways ahead, turning to make sure the boys are following.]

He keeps doing that and then if I don't follow him he follows me instead.

[ DAVE...RECOGNIZES THE WOLF. his expressions falls. ] If he takes us to Magatus I'm dumping you??

Why would he take us there? Also shut up, you would not. Probably. [The wolf snarls again when they don't get a move on.]

Because he's the goddamned wolf from there. [ dave gets a move on! sheesh. ]

Wait if that's true what the fuck is he doing here? [Magnus is pleased and begins to trot ahead, leading the boys away from their house and further into town. Where are we going? It's a mystery! To them, not us, since we wrote the prompt.] Is he even safe to be following?

Well no, but at least with both of us following him we know what's going to happen? [That makes no sense but ok. ]

I appreciate that. [The wolf doesn't seem to give a fuck what they're talking about seeing how he continues ahead leading them right to the cemetery, disappearing through an open slate of a wrought-iron fence and leaving them to figure out a way in.]
