I told him I'd meet up with him before dinner. [ since he didn't want to go off and leave john alone while john was sleeping? ]

Okay. Then we can go in whenever and look. Most of my stuff is in my sylladex anyway.

[ a shrug. dave collects his laptop, storing it in his sylladex. ] I was only really talkin' to Izuku.

...do you want to stay up here for a little while?

Did you? [ he's not, like...opposed. but he was mostly just trying to keep out of the house while john slept. ]

I kind of just want to hang out with you until you go see Izuku, dude. It's been a long two days.

Okay, well. We can do that inside. Pick out a room, sort your stuff. You should eat something.

[ he's going down a mental list automatically. ]

I'm assuming you were feedin' the lobster on account of he isn't dead?

I took care of Nauti Buoy, yeah. And you have to eat dinner too, you're the one who's been gone for two days.

Yeah, but I think that time didn't really pass.

It's been a couple of days since you've been here. What would you call it?

For me. Time didn't...I don't remember any of it.

You can't track it. [A little scary for the knight of time. ] You still need to eat and sleep, bro. Even if you didn't feel time pass.

I know how much time passed. I just...don't remember it passing.

I'm not sure. I need to check what we have but maybe pasta? Maybe fish. Do you have a preference?

I'd like some fruit? [ spoiler alert fresh fruit is still kinda novel sometimes. ]

[There's suddenly a bright smile because there's an opinion and that's great.] Sure, I can do that. Shouldn't be too hard.

[ ...why is john so happy about fruit, dave doesn't get it. ] Just tell me how to help out.

You could get some fresh water for us to boil? That's a thing I'll need.

We need barrels or something. [ it's not like hauling the water is too hard with a dex but - ] Having a little stored would make shit like baths easier.

I bet we could find some by the harbor if we looked. Or in storage. If you want to look we can do that?

Tomorrow? [ he's mentally accounting for how many people he at least has to message today. ] It's the only thing I can think of to make up for no indoor plumbing.

Whenever. Tomorrow is okay, I will still be here. [He leans back to look at the sky.] I'm kind of getting used to living in this town. We're figuring out things as we go. But for today I think I can make dinner without going out of our way.
