Hm, yes. I suppose that is a risk, isn't it? And that risk may always be there. It may be impossible for Karkat to fully grasp human concepts the same way because he isn't a human. Unless we horribly altered timelines in a way beyond our skills to make Karkat born on Earth as a human, there isn't much we can do about that.
But perhaps he deserves a little more credit for the effort he makes to understand our frankly stupid culture?
