Whoa, hey! [Even if it's a split second he's hyperaware considering he was watching him. He backs away from the sword even if he wasn't in range, and even when it disappears he catches the socks with one hand and gives Dave a quiet look. He says nothing for a moment, but eventually:]

Hey...you still with me? [A tentative grin. The fuck was that about?]

I had to fuck off and sleep away from people as much as I could for a while after we got back in August, too. [ so there is that. ] - I always trust you.

Considering what you told me about August I guess that makes sense. But then...trust me on this. I won't even wake you up unless I really have to and I have a lot of socks and a pillow. We can figure it out if you want, but if you want to abscond for a while that is okay, too. [Even if that option worries him.]

If you’re sure. [ although, after a beat: ] Draw your damn hammer if someone pulls a sword on you from now on, though.

If I knew that someone was going to draw a damn sword on me, I would have drawn my hammer. [There's a frown because he doesn't like the implications, but he doesn't argue either.] I can protect myself fine. I promise.

Just...what if somethin' happened that made me attack you in earnest, dude? You can't hesitate. Things go strange here every month.

I can defend without attacking, Dave. And that's what I will do if I need to.

But this is all about "fear" and messin' with our heads. It's...not improbable that people will go off in the wrong way.

You raise a good point. I've been having an easier time working with my sylladex and strife deck to get Wrinklefucker immediately but everyone is different.
