[yusuke will continue to be oblivious of his own alternative abusive upbringing until such a time that I decide he's far too happy and that needs to stop.]

...

[well he wasn't going to say anything about the art but dear god.]

The interest in art alone is as important as the drawing itself. And if you continue to draw you will see improvements, just from the action of repetitive drawing and studying subject matter alone.

So even with improvement over time through repetition and practice... you would have to continue with the more basic [nailed it] style of art without showcasing your development...?

[... weird, indeed.]

Still, simplifying artwork is a skill in and of itself.

?

I'm just making observations.

[... ... he's not sure how to respond to that, but in a good way?]

... Thank you?
I'm not about to make pointlessly cruel observations when it would be unnecessary...

[All art should be ... encouraged, really. Better to draw anything than not draw at all.]

I.
Okay?
I don't have any problems with that.

I see.
That sounds very official.

[no it doesn't. but okay.]

That seems somewhat excessive. A verbal agreement is fine.

Friendship has levels now? Like a video game?

[the things he is learning]

I see. And the longer you know a person, the more you level up the friendship.
I like that analogy.

Maybe a little simplistic for something as complicated as friendship. But you could market a theory like that, probably.

[Level up your friendship with trinkets, or something like that.]

Really? I haven't experienced too much of the way of a complications in friendship.
If you're honest with your friends, and they are honest with you, a lot of things can be overcome.

But we are individuals, after all. The same thing can't be applied to every person. Perhaps I have just been abnormally lucky.

White lies and withholding information that doesn't have to be shared? That sort of thing?

[But... trying to be a good person is all most people can try to do. Some manage, others don't, but the intention is an important starting point.]

I feel it might be more a case of having more time to devote to less people. Fewer but more precious friends works better for me, I find.
