[This is going to slowly drive him crazy, but he can be patient. He just grabs Dave's chin and holds that kiss a bit longer while he can.]

[Yeah, he knows.] Did you ever doubt that?

I doubted I was worthy of it. But no, I didn't doubt you.

[He holds Dave’s chin and shakes his head back and forth a bit.] You are worth more to me than I can even describe, dude. All three of you back then, too.

[ for a guy who frequently tensed up or paused when john hugged him previously (usually followed by clinging), dave has come a pretty far way. he immediately leans into john to hug back. he's still awkwardly clingy about it, but john has never complained about dave holding on too hard or tight so whatever. ]

Mm, yeah. Unless you really want to do somethin' else.

[It'd be weirder if he hadn't caught on that Dave's been pretty touch-starved recently. Instead, he holds him for a brief amount of time, letting Dave cling before he pulls back to gesture toward the bed.]

I'm pretty beat. Bed isn't a bad idea.

[ dave debates making john actually carry him back to the bed but instead lets go and bounces up to his feet, abandoning john to his own devices. ]

[He would have truth be told but Dave's up before John can think about it and John gets to his feet, resting a hand on Dave's lowerback to push him toward the bed.]

Do you want to set an alarm for the morning or leave it?

Yeah, probably. But it's okay even if you're not. [To bed then. He's also turning down the covers and sheets so they can get back into the bed itself as Mewpac launches herself up onto the foot of it.] Breakfast tomorrow and then whatever?

Maybe. Depends on what breakfast is? Gourmet cereal or what? [ what is even gourmet cereal...dave sides into the bed for the position by the wall, though. ]

It is winter. I could make you oatmeal if you want? [But John follows and he turns off the bedside light, putting his glasses on the table near the bed and immediately pulling Dave back against him again.]

Whatever you feel like is fine with me, babe. [ he lets himself be drawn closer and automatically shifts to share john's pillow. ] John?

I'll think about it. [But they're sharing a pillow and John's eyes are mostly closed even when Dave says his name.] What's up?

Love you. [ it's very quiet. ]
