How is Christmas stupid? [There's a slight noise of contentment but he lets Dave's hands continue.]

The idea that one person spoiling the other has to go all one way because of a holiday is stupid.’Its not like Christmas is my birthday. Even if it were that sentiment would be slightly dumb? [ and tbh if john just goes back to sleep and misses christmas dave wouln’t bat an eye. ]

Well I like spoiling you on the regular anyway but I get your point. [Yeah his eyes are definitely closing again.] But we have presents and stuff under the tree.

[What tree? At some point, John definitely bought a small table-top tree. The only ornament on it are the four baubles colored for the betas aspects that John made and the ornament Dave made him. There's also a small stack of gifts.]

We’ll get to them whenever. [ dave’s voice is quiet and he simply keeps working. he’s at least competent at giving a massage although he’s reasonably sure emil is better. ]

If you say so...your hands are really good. [Needless to say he likes this a lot and there's a shift as he buries his face into his pillow.] It's almost unfair.

[ sometimes he does? other times he gets insecure. for the moment dave breaks his own quiet rule about not kissing john in bed, a weirdly polite and cautious thing, to lean down and drop a kiss to the corner of john’s mouth, too fleeting. ]

Good to know what may or may not work. It feels really good though...is that a hint I should maybe flatter you more?

Nah. It’s not actually sincere if you nag for it. Do you want to delay Christmas and go back to sleep?

It's not nagging, dumbass. And noooo. I want to do Christmas things but I really like your hands. I'm not actually sleepy.

Later tonight then or we're not going to go anywhere and that would suck. [He turns though, carefully laying on his back and wrapping his arms around Dave's back and waist to pull him down a little.]

No. Do you plan to eat if I don’t? [ he is all about john eating?? ] But no I'm fine until like lunch maybe.

Maybe just some cereal. Christmas doesn't have to be a huge deal for breakfast, we can do lunch or something together instead. [Even if Dave isn't laying on him he's keeping his hands there, thumb rubbing a slow circle at his hip.] So presents, I guess.

[ since he stopped the laying from occurring guess he’s just sitting on john. he’d worry more if he weighed more. ]

Cool. Did we hide any more presents for Mewpac?

I think there's one or two more presents under the tree for her. That's kind of like hiding them isn't it?

Kinda feel like you’ll make fun of me if I ask any of the questions that immediately come to mind, so sure. [ is john letting dave dislodge first or is he just sitting up while dave is half sitting on him and half hovering how stupid is this ]

[ john for fuck's sake. dave transfers his hands from the bed to john's shoulders so he doesn't lose his balance, but doesn't voice a complaint even if he has to shift to accommodate. ]

No way. I am not telling you. Maybe next year. What does playing Santa entail here, exactly? Are you going to sort the presents and hand them around?
