[John will be quiet because he's also starting to clean up the kitchen and wash dishes while Dave finishes, so probably by the time Dave eats his pancakes John's ready to take his plate and wash that off, too. His movements are a little slow and he shivers again just slightly but he's still alert enough.]

[ john shivers and dave hands over his plate but also swings the blanket off of him and over onto john, so. then he hops off the counter and goes to chase down mewpac before john can mount a protest. ]

[He doesn't object this time and he finishes cleaning while Dave scoops up their cat and he moves toward the doorway of the kitchen. He's also keeping the blanket like a cape, fight him.]

What're you going to do when we get back upstairs? [Mostly because he's not going to force Dave to go back to bed if he doesn't want to.]

No the time doesn't matter, I am saying that I did not think a 4am flight all the way through. I already told you Saturdays are yours, but I know you're probably up as it is.

[Once they get to the room and John unlocks the door, he floats over to his own bed and settles with the blanket, curling up and clearly leaving enough room just to see what Dave's going to do next.]

When do you ever think shit through? [ that's. way too amused and fond and exasperated all at once. what dave does is shut and lock their door as per his usual habit, before he kicks his slippers off and crawls into bed with john, mewpac set down gently to do whatever once he's there. he's cold and used to john's pulling him along that he comes without having to be pulled along for the moment. ]

[There's a light push to Dave's head because wow, that's rude, but all the same he shifts to accommodate the space. Mewpac's wiggling her way up to lay on the pillows above them and John's free hand tugs the blankets over both of them instead of just himself. It's not that hard to tell Dave's still cold and he has zero problem going back to how they were before, loosely draped over him to provide bodyheat.]

Jerk. [It's belated and fond and he feels a little better even when he puts his glasses aside and closes his eyes.] ...next time we head up we should test your godtier uniform. See if that's why space was never cold.
