WEEK ONE: SUNDAY AFTERNOON, ROOM 106

[ dave dropped violet off a little earlier at the room, then went off to haul dirk back to 106, so when he steps back into the room - knocking and being let in, presumably - it's with. the oldest member of this little power rangers squad in tow.

he goes to sit on the couch next to violet, bumping his elbow into hers as a sort of "hey" and then leans forward to rest his elbows on his knees. there's like. that chair or whatever by the end table for dirk, clementine and emily are probably sitting on their respective beds?

anyway dave kind of eyes dirk (again. this will keep happening) before going: ]

Okay. Everyone but me can role reveal if we wanna get that out of the way so we can talk information and make a plan for the week based on, y'know, what we can do. Everyone but Dirk [ nods to ] knows what I am, anyway, and he can't know from my mouth 'till tomorrow so we can test a thing. Y'all can mention whatever, though...

[ LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS, to defeat...the HUNS. there is no particular tag order just do whatever and treat it like a trial you can threadjack i guess. ]

We could've been dragged out of our dimension and into some scifi realm operating on different rules. Not to take the lead from Lovecraft too heavily, but if Abigail was messin' with things mankind was Not Meant To Know, she could've accidentally given the whole place over to the grasp of Elder Gods or whatever. Hana was given to something in the lake, and when I checked out the Dark Room today [Dirk why] the newspaper showed a description of the trial's events.

[Like the actual real horror in Lovecraft was always the overwhelming insignificance of humanity but he won't knock them on themes.

If we were moved into a pocket dimension operating under these kinds of rules, then in theory, we could move this place out.

Was there a date on the newspaper?

May 28th, no year.

Cool. [ THEN, IN ANNOYANCE: ] Stop goin' in the Dark Room.

[ WHY ARE YOU THIS WAY asks the kid who. wants to break into a burnt building tomorrow. ]

It is the least dangerous thing I have on the schedule for this week.

[ annoyed look continues ]

Says the dude unnecessarily addin' the buildin' burning onto his locked room agenda.

So would you want me to go sit in the Dark Room alone?

I didn't sit, I just scoped it out to see if there was anythin' worth noticin'.

That completely bypassed answerin' my question.

The answer is no, I don't want you to. I'd like you to minimize the number of dangerous or unsettling things you tangle with.

So, we're at the end of May, maybe. If we assume the newspapers from the Storage Room are from the past, it doesn't matter really. But if they're current, it might? Sort of?

Even if not, who knows. There might be a surprise anniversary party on July 1st.

If I'm still alive then, I'll be sure to wear my best party dress.
