WEEK ONE: SUNDAY AFTERNOON, ROOM 106

[ dave dropped violet off a little earlier at the room, then went off to haul dirk back to 106, so when he steps back into the room - knocking and being let in, presumably - it's with. the oldest member of this little power rangers squad in tow.

he goes to sit on the couch next to violet, bumping his elbow into hers as a sort of "hey" and then leans forward to rest his elbows on his knees. there's like. that chair or whatever by the end table for dirk, clementine and emily are probably sitting on their respective beds?

anyway dave kind of eyes dirk (again. this will keep happening) before going: ]

Okay. Everyone but me can role reveal if we wanna get that out of the way so we can talk information and make a plan for the week based on, y'know, what we can do. Everyone but Dirk [ nods to ] knows what I am, anyway, and he can't know from my mouth 'till tomorrow so we can test a thing. Y'all can mention whatever, though...

"Something is up" is likely correct. Though... suggesting they never were demolished, which is obvious, but that almost makes me wonder how much we can trust the newspapers. I mean, we don't have much choice, but...

[ she's going to be annoyed if it's all manipulated bs is what she's saying. ]

I hope one day we can get to that radio tower, though who knows if a distress call would be useful or not.

[ pause ] Pictures of happy people is sort of odd. Maybe the papers and pictures belonged to someone?

They mostly seemed to be like...old things you'd box up. I couldn't see Abigail in any of the photographs, just like, the newspaper. The pictures were mostly relevant because, like. Happy? And also, day and night were separate concepts, not this always twilight bullshit.

No one in the pictures looked like anyone here, did they? Wow, I feel like it's been so long since we've had day and night.

No, I didn't recognize any of them. They were all wearin', like...old-timey clothes of the like. I dunno. About the era you'd expect from the hotel, really?

.. The motel seems old-timey to you?

...Well. More...old-timey than I'm used to? Not that I'm callin' you old-timey.

I hadn't suggested that. Do you think I'm old-timey?

[ she says probably sitting there in a vaguely cute 70s pastel button-up and slacks. asoue is timeless ok. timelessly 20s/40s/60s/has streaming television. also yes she is teasing him. ]

No! I didn't say that. [ violet let him Rest - god actually this reminds him of rose too. ] I mean, you're very modern. Just. The most modern. Could star in your own television series, about modernism.

[ he belatedly realized like half the room is old-timey, rip ]

I was mostly joking. I don't even know what your idea of modern is?

Well...jeans and shirts, I guess??? Cellphones? I don't know, "modern" is actually kind of a wide subject to try to pin down.
