[ IT'S DO OR DIE, DAVE she would rather die by her own hand than by puppet nonsense, so this is fine. There's nothing she can do aside from get dragged up from hell, not even being able to scream without getting dirt in her mouth, so it's blessed silence until they finally emerge from the ground, the mud sloshing all around them like quicksand and the river water, instead of washing them clean, just lets the mud soak in deeper into everything they're wearing.
They're a complete mess, but they're alive? Yes. ]
She's really happy to be back on solid ground, in a wide open space instead of surrounded by walls and puppets on all sides; even if it is the forest they somehow ended up in, she's not going to question that. ]
At least the heroes have to live, or they can't wring money out of sequels... [ Being the hero of her own life isn't something she ever questioned, so. Up on her feet, stretching her legs and making sure everything still works. ] Why'd we end up here, anyways? If we kept going, think we could've made it past the forest and out of the city?
[ She's pretty sure she's been outside the city at one point in her life, but at the mention of something out in the distance, that's all but forgotten to starting running for it. ]
I thought I'd gone through every square inch of the forest— didn't know there was something here! Let's go see!
[ Alright, time to parent up all the way back to the main post to remind myself what the heck this end prize of a bunker was all about in the first place. Mafuyu's never known caution in her life, so she bounds up to the structure without really looking around, and hauls herself up on top of the bunker's roof instead of the door that's right there, muttering something about not even being able to see the Towers past all the trees. ]
That's the blue Retrospec flower symbol thing on the door, right? Think this is where they kept all those bazookas and machine guns from before?
[ An armory would've been cooler, but with all the monsters and memory nonsense and other equally questionable/illegal developments associated with Retrospec, it doesn't surprise her that they might have started out hidden in the middle of the woods.
Mafuyu jumps off the roof and follows Dave inside, fists raised in preparation to fight whatever's inside that might've been woken up by all her stomping around on the rooftop. Her experience with video games tells her abandoned buildings are where wild animals and other creatures take refuge, especially when the door had opened so easily, so she's ready to fight the dragon or troll or—- She sneezes, dropping her stance, defeated by dust. ]
Man, no one's been here in forever. I'm gonna check out that desk, see if there's any spare markers I can nab.
Dunno, how old do you think this stuff is? They even have those spinny phones.
[ With a rotary dial that she turns with her finger, marveling at how clunky the telephone is, and the fact it has a cord of all things. There's nothing of note around the desk though, so she joins Dave at the door, glancing up at the little animal symbols on each one she passes. ]
Better a zoo than a museum... What'd you find in here?
Uh...looks like family charts and some kinda contract.
"Clarence Vanderweele, Georgia Mahoney, Phillip Spinnato and Myrtle Cavendish will embark on a venture to begin saving worlds that are being destroyed across the universe. They will organize rescue teams to scout various worlds and collect "seeds", though what this entirely means isn't made clear. These seeds will then be brought to a safe haven to foster and grow to preserve the worlds while the four founders of the city design the new universe."
[ Those names should be familiar to her if she'd paid any attention of everything that went down the last couple months, but alas. Mafuyu just wrinkles her nose after hearing it all. ]
Sounds like a synopsis for some sci-fi botany movie.
Doubt it; I wasn't rescued from anywhere. [ More like, people need rescuing from her or something ] Seeds are seeds, right? Maybe they're talking about the apples and lemons and stuff that grew faces, those sound alien enough.
[ Dave is talking to somebody who gives him this stupid blank look, do you think Mafuyu knows what a metaphor is, let alone can recognize one? (no) ]
That's annoying. People should just say what they mean; if they mean a person, say person, if they mean a seed, say seed. I don't really get all this stuff, so you'd better just take a picture of all that and find someone else to discuss things with.
[ She knows she's not the best at figuring things out, she can admit that. Also because this thread will literally go nowhere trying to talk to someone who is the intellectual equivalent of a brick wall, so it can be wrapped up soon to focus on the other 234098163 threads we'll probably have together. ]

[ dave, somehow the more normal of the two, will open the door. ]
