That sounds like a... completely normal and reasonable hobby to have. [A slight pause.] Not that I really have any grounds to lecture someone on normal hobbies. Mine is solving mysteries.

Yes, in part. That's the real-life mystery that's been consuming me since about March or so.

But before that, even growing up I loved reading mystery novels and trying to figure everything out before the narrative gave it away.

Did something in specific get you into that, or it was just, like, gradual and natural?

Uh... not that I can identify, no. That said, my father and grandfather were both detectives, so there's at least always been that presence in my life as long as I can remember. So if you'd like to attribute it to anything, I'd imagine that's a fairly plausible source.

Essentially. Since I've been old enough to dream about those things.

Besides which, mysteries are fun.
