I'm not up for a Strider-style discourse on what we do or do not feel about things that did or did not happen. But I've been meanin' to ask you for a while - well, I've been considerin' askin' and tryin' to decide if I thought it was too weird and depressin' an activity, but I don't care right now, so. I don't want to marathon songs about that alone because I think that'd probably just get me stuck in my own head but I want to listen to them anyway. We can just do that until one or both of us passes out? Because maybe if I wasn't just doin' it alone that wouldn't happen.

Good. We can make more. [By 'we' he means 'I' but hey if Dave wants to join, sure. Dirk just tends to be less likely to have problems with meat-related activities. Anyway Dave gets his piggyback ride upstairs, and he will get dropped off on the lower bunk. Dirk will sit beside him without asking.]

[Then it's what Dirk thought: about Bro. Dirk hits play to listen to the song. He doesn't know his Mountain Goats as well as he knows his P.O.S., but he holds Dave and he listens all the way through, no protest, no comment. Just keeping his brother close and listening.]
[ well if dirk doesn't say anything dave pretty much won't. he'll just have put shuffle through the artist on and pretty much will listen in quiet. he did Not want to listen to all of them alone even if all the songs couldn't possibly be about The Thing so even if this is a morbid way to spend time it's a thing he did actually feel like doing in a...non? destructive way? he's not sure if this qualifies as destructive or not.

[Dirk will in fact not interrupt him. Dave said he didn't want to get into a discussion about it so Dirk keeps quiet and lets Dave go to sleep. He'll probably go to sleep too eventually.]
